WHO ARE WE?

Eight Six Go is an inclusive running, social & wellness community based in Hartford, Connecticut, focused on creating a community where people feel comfortable enough to challenge themselves. We run in & around our Capital City, remaining visible to those who may one day find themselves joining us too.

How it started

Renae and Malcolm met through a mutual childhood friend and realized another connection through Boston, MA based and BIPOC-lead PIONEERS Run Crew. They share a passion for prioritizing movement, community development and the need for representation of people of color in all spaces.

Renae is a Hartford native who believes in the value of our local community. Following her love for athletics, she graduated from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill with a degree in Exercise and Sport Science. While living in Boston for work, Renae joined a BIPOC running crew where she progressed from struggling to finish one mile to training for her first half marathon. She hopes to motivate others in the Hartford community to build a positive relationship with running founded on community, self-improvement, and joy.
